Kelly went all Space Oddissy

Richard Kelly could very well been following the footstep, "That's weird" genre, from David Lynch to Cronoberg. Lately it seem Southland tales wasn't well receive from the public , to the critic. Now for he's third feature, he adding some star Cameron Diaz, some X-File element, and finally a box. Here's the review:
Virginia 1971, Lovely young couple was living their own life from the wife teacher Norma Lewis(Cameron Diaz) to the scientist husband Arthur Lewis(James Marsden). Enjoying it each moment, but when they started to have some financial problems. From cuts of the school, to the husband been rejected as astronaut. It seem nothing could save them, except when their door ring, introducing to a very scar 50 year old man calling himself Mr. Steward(Frank Lagella).
Offering them a chance for 1 million dollar, for just pushing a button, that we have the effect that someone in the world will die. Temptation rise, just to free then from their financial wows? And who's he's Mr. Steward? All the secrets lie in the box.
Well i got say, Cameron accent really impressive me here, from her gig as loving mother, to the suspense that follow. Is nice seen her getting some serious acting. James well didn't fit on the whole father and son relationship here, cause he was playing more of a Colombo type. Lagella really bring the mistery of the film, from the way he is introduce, to the way he's not really the villain of the film. The man have he's moment, but here knows he's act.
Now the story really center on the concept of temptation, and the discovery, that only twisted mind can know about. I mean you can really can get the whole(spoiler alert) lightning hitting scenario. Which every government agency is involve to. I mean it did focus much on the viking landing to Mars. But just pushing the button, where the suspense start. And well is not really explain on the whole thing. Kelly can do some strange thing, but here he really went with something that get lost in the mix.
With just minor touch water the effect, it seem Kelly has some sort fascination with water, that till doesn't make sense. i mean he used it on Donnie, but till confuse.
So is best see it with commentary, cause the film doesnt reach anything. You well be a scientist or something to get it. Kelly could very well be in a genre of he's own.

disney bring their true magic, only this time it have nothing todo with CGI.

Disney have always been the king of animation pictures:
making snow white, sleeping beuty, little mermaid, and the grand masterpiece
beuty and the beast. But on star of the new century, pixar desthrone it, and brought a new style, that made them the surpreme rulers of the animation features. Now disney is recapturing the magic they had in the 90's, and doing it in the way, that only a true disney fan can enjoy:

New Orleans is the place, and the story begin. Where Jazz was born, and the celebration of Madi grass is anual tradition, that bring true magic of Louisssiana. where a young waitres is earning her money to open her very own Restaurant, Her name is Tiana(Anika Noni). Where she doesnt notice the arrival, of a very young errogant, womanizer, music loving Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), he meet a man, that can promise him manny thing, money, women, a witch doctor Dr. Facilier(Keith Davis) only to be fool. One day Tiana is invited to a party of her best friend Charlotte(Jennifer Cody), where she meet a talking frog, that tell her if she kiss him, he we turn back to a prince. But soon we discover it come with a minor detail.
Tiana turn to a frog. Now they must find a way to return back totyheir human self, taking them to adventure where they meet the trumpet playing crocodile Louis(Michael-Leon Wooley) and the cajun firefly Ray(Jim Cumming)to find Mama Odi(Jenifer Lewis) and break the spell. So take a ride to the bayou, and discover the meaning of working hard and finding love, can take you.

For the voice acting was very New Orleans, from part of alll them especially of Michael Leon, where he loving of the trumpet brought the comedy of the film. And cumming became the very heart of the film, for he's interpretation of a timon like character. The enchantress of Anita voice, brought the true magic, of what a princes is. And the singing are something that only whitney houston could very be jealous off. The charisma of Campo gave the prince, truelly show of what the film trully is about(im sorry here, but i m not ready to go all girleyon the description). But it was great. And what can i say about keith Davis, love him on the spawn series, but the singing really doesn't qualified him.

The story really had a nice twist, with tiana turning to a frog, but didn't help wonder that it have the same plot point as another previous disney film call the little mermaid. The structure that it have follow as any disney film, that is know of, from the singing, to the drama that follow, but fell short, and not giving the time that the film needed. The witch doctor death it was to soon, and they didnt gave him enought spotlight on he's mishief. Imean hes the main antogonist, that follow the footstep of Capt. Hook, or otther disney villain. spoiler alert, The whole Kiss thing really confuse me, cause is suppose to be a princes that turn him, not a very Paris Hilton wannabe.

But the picture is save in the case of the supporting characters. But on the case of the comedy animation it have evolve, thank to pictures like Shrek, magdagascar, Up, Wall-E. that it have a very adult tone to it. Cause i felt that i knew what most of this character were going to. From the 3 hicks hitting themself, to the big butt, to how Louis was going to be receive by the human. Is all predicment. But hey it work.

Now the animatio, got go with Holy god christ, is finally to see back the 90's smooth animation that disney had. From the prince expression, that can only remind me of the warner brothers cartoons from Tiny toon, to Animaniac. To Louis singing and dancing in the bayou, that scene can only come from from the jungle book very own grey bear. And the water effect is something they should have use on the little mermaid. The dancing under sea seriously is something they wanted top off to the beuty and the beast scene, that got say didnt work. Is good to see their transition they did on the Tiana dream, going all bourlesque. Something that have done in Kung fu Panda.

So the film deliver something that nostalgic cartoon fan would wanna see. But the whole twist really felt it like the little mermaid. I m not saying they wanna bring the psark that made that film as a classic, but fell short. The movie will entertain the kids, but tyhe comedy will come short. On the age that tradition animation is being extint in the movie bizz. Cg reign surpreme, to the new mind making new , orinal story, to bringing a very new style of animation.
But you got to wonder, cg wouldnt be nothing, if only one man could have bring a drawing to life with just just moving a paper.

Now as for the story, i think went is about a fairy tale.
I m going on what Zenescope have.

I felt like reading a playgirl mag.

Well it took them a year to make sequel, change the director, and release it. is it me, or is this turning into the next pirate gimmick. Thank to the now twilight phenomenon, it have turn its teen girl, into fangirl. Leaving the boys, nothing to sheer(except there is some nudity). The film already amounted more of 200 million, and growing some more. But is this film got some story in it?
Plot: Well is another episode of our lovely vamp couple Bella(Kristen Stewart) and the always pale Edward(Ropert Pattinson). From going to school together, to celebrating Bella birthday. Throwing a surprise party in the Cullen residence, she spill some blood, that make one member is giving by the temptation. So Edward breakups, turning her into adrenaline junking, just to see him again(he's ghost i mean). That's when native hunk Jacob(Taylor Lautner) comes to the rescue. Now a new love come to the picture, making her feel better. exploring he's world, from friends, to he's custom mechanic. Jacob turn out to be a keeper. But when he suffer some kind of puberty, from he's shape of hes body, to hes new hairdo. it scare her, only to witness, that in fact he's a wolf(not your typical wolfman, or even teen wolf). but just your average 2 feet long wolf. Making her more relax, but still scare. But when a Cullen member come to visit her, the whining and the drama start. Seem Edward want to die by the hand of the most powerful vampire family the Italian volturi. So they reject him, so he start to make a scene, to die of course. So is up to Bella to stop him, but Wolfy boy want her to stay?
What should Bella do?
OK, lets get the acting first, like always Kristen performance play out as your average teen girl drama queen, her feeling is broken. Man Kristen stewart can do it better. Even in a TV series. Then there's till the Robert that play out even worst, cause he's heart is broken by the whole separation. And he wanna die. Shhh bato get some friend and talk about, in a more of redneck way. Then there's the Taylor act, there's nothing to say just abs abs and more abs. this guy should have, been training with the same stunt double of 300's to get them.
OK i got to confess first i did like the first, cause of the pact that the native had with the Cullen had. Turning it into a very woody version of underworld, but the drama, was till soap opera.
Now i felt this one was a rehash of the last, only from the Jacob perspective. And the he's world, from he's friend, to the intro of one girl that got claw. I mean they could have started something there, but hey is more of a crying of Edward and Bella. I mean the film is not even marked by Mtv. Making it a teen movie, but more of relationship that cant never be. Oh brother try to see true blood, they got something that twilight don't, a real story. The makers want this to be seen, to a more feminine demographic. I mean all i heard in the theater, crying from teen girl, all dreaming to be Ed side. But wait there's Jacob character, that's where thing turn to chip and dale moment. Making it look more soft porn. period. Now what i did like of the film, was the action, from the wolf hunting, to Edward fighting scene. I mean the fast nest that it had, it only remind me of the Popeye fight. with the same cloud appearing with fist flying around. But it was low, but i give them credit, for studying how a true wolf fight. thank you animal planet.
So i m not the right guy from seen it. But i bet ye can get someone better, that have some love for the film, and have more of a girl perspective. Cause really if you a guy and see it, then that mean that your girlfriend drag you.
So i m gonna make a short closing, and say this:
I really hated it.
