Best film so far, with a little spanish flavor in it.

Kid fantasy, is what making wave this days:
Eragon, the searcher, but non of them couldn't reach the hype to the Harry Potter film. But when a particular film from 2005 premier in December, that involve a lion, witch, and the wardrobe.
Well ye don't get a fable, but a epic. Now a not so sequel, but a follow up, comes, and this time the kids ain't the stars but a young Spanish(of course he's British theater actor)prince.
Here's my sound of the horn of a review:

A century have passed, and Narnia land have been torch by the arrival of the Telmarine, that have exiling all mystical beast of the land(that count, centaurin, dwarfs, goat people, minotaur, ogres, etc,). But when the son of King Miraz is born, he order the dead of he's nephew who's the rightful heir to the throne, prince Caspian(Ben Barnes) Help by he's professor, he escape to the woods, where he blow the horn. While back to the real world Susan(Ana Popplewell), Edmund(Skandar Keynes), and little Lucy(Georgie Henley), make their way, to the subway. But when a fight broke, involving Peter(William Moseley), cause he wasn't to be taken seriously. But when their world change, they re transported back to Narnia, only to find ruins. So they make their way to find Aslan.
Meanwhile Prince Caspian is taken refuge with a dwarf n badger, where take him to meet up with the others narnian, where they put him in trial, for what he people have done, and taken.
So the Prince promise them, their land back, if they help him take back he's crown, and help of the Pevensie siblings, is time to act, and return the Telmarine prince to the rightful throne. but when problems ab rum, when a clash of disagreement comes between Peter n the Prince, their chances to win, seem hopeless.
Will they work together?

First of the Prince himself make a very dashing star, that can make a senior women droll over. This time the kids don't act that much, but in the case of William, struggling to be a man was a great star, especially that argument he have with the prince. and this time we get to see Ana with the bow in action finally. And they say the spanners can act evil tell that to Sergio Castellitto, playing King Miraz, with just having that beard he very well be the captain hook of the story. But the one that i describe it as the scratch(of ice age) go to a swashbuckling mice call Reepicheep, that almost take the movie, but is a fun character to follow. And of course Liam Nesson is back to reprise he's role as aslan.

Coming from the director of the 1st shreck movie, he do justice , when it come to the visual, i mean there places that can be compare to another epic movie 3rd harry potter film, with great landscape, great wide shot to the Telmarine castle. But enough of that, lets talk about the fx, this time they gave all to bring the mystical beast great touch est to the real hair of the minotaur, to the human body of the centaurs, but beside there the animals are all cg. But of course the true delight of the fx's go to water creature, that can't be compare to the water horses of the 1st LOTR.

But the difference to the 1st is, this time their dead, from the creatures to the beast, they didnt stop to make it more real, especially the fight between Peter and Miraz. Far non, this ain't a Pg film. Now there something that i got to point out the battle armours of the Telmarine have so much influences to the Spanish conquistador, specialty, is they look straight out of a Don Quixote look. What i real like of the film, is they tone of the enemy, who they were, cause most of this actor that play them are all Spanish, and some Mexican too. So this is a very unique thing coming from a fantasy film. Hey i m Mexican i know my history.

the problem that i had with the 1st , there were great storytelling, but little lets acting, this time they done right, so there is a perfect film.

So, if weren't satisfy with last weekend race, if you know what movie i m talking about. then let Disney fill you up with a finally great epic n fantasy movie. And give yourself, a little bit discovering to another culture, especially when is European. Go and explore the world of Narnia.

stylish, colorful, but forget that, is always the car.

Base on the first anime series that made it to our tv in the late 60's. Follow now the trend of cartoon to movie. Always the story was in speed, and only that , but with adventure, intrigue, action crushes harder than taken a drink with Lisa lohan . To this film got the acceleration needed to make it a great or family film? turn the light, smoke the engine, and drive on my review:

Speed racer(Emily Hirsh) is a young race driver, coming from a family with history on cars, from Pop(John Goodman), Mom(Susan Saradon), Spritle(Paulie Litt) and their pet ape Chim chim, with their mechanic Spark(Nick Gurry). He follow in his bigger brother Rex, he try to be thebest on what he love most. But when he reject a multi billion corporation by the name of Royalton(Roger Allan). Threatening him and he's family, by losing every race he's in. But find help by the mysterious mask man racer x(Matthew Fox) and inspector Detector( Benno Fürmann) that work for the C.I.B. To bring justice and prove that royalton involment have been fixing every race. For a miserable profit on their action. With the family and trixie(Christina Ricci) behind him. Speed discover the true meaning of what it is to drive. Welcome to the world of stunt racing. And a story of a racer that change that.

Ok some of the acting so much of the badguys is second rated. I mean this is a film that should have gone to DVD. but i got say is not all bad, cause of the cartoonish they really give some fun tothe film. The best go to Paulie Litt and his chimp, that take most of the movie, from their love of candy, to their hi jink when it come hiding in the drunk of the Mach 5. Especially the the dragon ball scene. Great work, Christina was sweet and very observing when it come using the helicopter, but far goes to the comedy expression and mean looks of John Goodman, and the confidense of Susan Sarandon make the movie more enjoyable, Emily Hirch was good for main protagonist, that already he have done on other films. But lets get serious Matthew fox fell like the terminator for this, i mean sure some smile, and drama there, but didn't feel right.

Now the downside of this film was on the dialog that seem so long that remind me of the same when i went to see the Star Wars : Attack of the Clones. with more talking n less action. They should have a least have cut ten some scene, cause really that's why soap opera exist, to exhaust us of boredom.

Bu t lets get to scream of the movie the visual, their no denial the hit it good, under the supervision of Oscar winner John Gaeta, the film change a new style of racing, with the turning of the drift driven, to tracks that look like skate ramps, to some 360's too. By far this is carskating, with so much psichodelic from part of the color n lights, some wonder this is racing or another Britney night out clubs. Their some confusing when it come to the crushing cause you don't no if is mountain on fire or is just a car. And the demolition man foaming safety belts are new touch.

The environment is not all cg, when it come to the interior of the houses n hotels, but fell right for base on a cartoon movie. But there one scene that make ya wonder if ya seen the 2001 space odyssey.

So the movie is gonna bump iron man for the weekend, take no. but hey i could be wrong. The movie is a visual delight, with so much effect that you don't know if ye have a game controller in your hand, but they really have tone down on the dramatic part. and hey the brotyers already gave us a peek to their next project that i heard is gonna have ninja.

i think i should be polishing iron man metal

The robot films are starting to ignited from the first fembot in Metropolis, to the 80's classics Terminator to Robocop, and last year Transformers.
O f course iron man ain't one, than i don't care while it wear and armor and make thing go boom. Than that's hardcore robot:

Tony Stark(Robert Downey Jr) is a innovator, inventor, have achieve so much over he life( also egotistical, gambler, and playboy) running he father
company with Obadiah Stane(Jeff Bridges). building and showing their latest weapons to the world. But a trip to Afghanistan change that, when the convoy is attack by a group of terrorist name the 10 rings, capture, he is force to build missiles. Seen how this militia got of hold of he's weapons. he decide to build and armor, aid of Yinsen(Shoun Toub), they build something, that can only be describe as walking fortrees. When the day come to make the escape, Yinsen sacrifice, from where Tony discover the value of a life, rescue by the army, he decide to shut down all weapon productions, that upset some people, including Obadiah. Obsesive for what he build, he try to make a new one, but giving it and upgrade. Someone found the plans that Stark build. While back he test everything from the stabilizer to the thrust of he new armor. But later discovering that the company weapons are been used by same people that capture him. Is time to turn the armor for what is build to do. Destroy everything, don't ask question.

Robert Downey give a very charismatic, and very fun dialog, that really define him better for this kind of picture. Jeff Bridges performance wasn't that evil. Now here's some comic fact for ya, Gwyneth Paltrow Character Pepper Pots is more sensual, but here she play it very damsel in distress kind.

Now the visual are the best of the picture, from the flying, to the first battle scene, where show ya, never shoot to a full metal helmet, that define a one man army, there some funny moment come when is testing time, that actually there not that cliche, this could very be, a very very very action film(just with some tech in it). But that couldn't be made more fun with out the direction of Jon Favreau.

By far this is good superhero movie that anyone could enjoy, but it saddens me that i didn't put it on my most watch for this summer, to i regret it well yeah. Jon Favreau hasn't fail on any of he movies by giving it that sarcast comedy that have, with Iron Man is he move to the action genre that got it right, this very well be true version that was missing for spider-man3. And nice touch putting "the man" as a player. You go Stan. best performance.

It will shoot, fly, and blast ya. This film is the first of the marvel studio, and something tell they ain't stopping there. there's more to come. But until the Hulk starts destroying theaters, we be full for this one.

With a whole new story, this time around sighting more on the R.P.D. Than a rookie agent. Our team go against the fairy world, with more creatures n more bigger guns. Yeah lets have some candy with that.

Anybody got light for this bong of a movie?

In late 70 to the 80's there was cheech n chong, that introduce great comedy when ye ad weed to the picture, than in the 90's kevin smith gave us the foul mouth smoking dealer of Jay and the wise n silent bob. In 2004 following the footstep of this great master of making mary jane(not to confuse with Kristen Dunt) Is Harold n Kumar, for what adventure took them to find the white casttle, n shove every burger they wanted. But what happen the day after? did they went to Amsterdam? here s my review then:

After eating all the burgers the Boys settle down for a few hour,before their plane await, so Harold(John Cho) n Kumar(Kal Penn) pack up of to Amsterdam, that where we meet Kurma's ex girlfriend Vanessa(Danneel Harris), which is getting married, to a suck up to the president after they get busted for lighting a bong, which the passenger confuse it for a bomb n mistake them as terrorist. Now is up to the extremist fundamental, like to spill grape soda, n pennys con servative Agent Fox(Rob Corddry) , that send them to Guantanamo, that less than hour escape, hitch a ride with some local cuban to Miami with the Aid of Rasa(Amid Talaj)where the duo learn a new style of partying with bottomless. So a new adventure start, taking them to deep of the south where they meeting to some good samaritan gangsters, some local modern southies with a mutant of a son, to a rally with the kkk, that mistake them as Mexican, to hitching with Neal Patrick Harris(who like them mushroom), expressing their feeling in a local whore house, and dropping in to the main man himself G.W. so the boys can clear their names, n stop a wedding. All that before they get stop by Agent Fox n he's man. Oh also the weed bag come back in a threeway.

By far this is the fun ye can have beside smoking it. The duo bring some of the strong n fun, tthat ye can have in the film. The one that take the dialog is Kal Penn as always with some of a self explanatory dialog. But ye think Neal performance was great in the 1st, well ye get to see him more on this one with a unicorn that travel with(God bless he didn't went all second life with it). But far the best is the main villain of the agent who never wipe hes bottom of Bill Corddry.
This is by far the most provoking n funniest act, he remind me of the bastard son of dick chenny.

The story till follow the o brother where at dou? formula, but with new twist, to the scary scene of the cyclop, to the Neal sealing pornstar Echo valley bottom(Hey i know somethings), to the KKK scene, which i opose, i mean Mexican, we dont have that very close eyes, and we re not that brownish, we got a more of a light caramel color, of course the sad part of it is some seen were cut out, like where they 're thrown from a bus, to Bill corddry ambush it(which were nice)
But by far the funniest moment, is the father calling of G.W. to he's dad, that really give a positive look, if ye count the weed that he smoke's

The is better than the 1st, with more political, n offensive jokes. But will stay as the funniest pot movie of this year, cause in august Seth Rogen n James Franco come smoking more in Pineapple Express, n my sight are telling that got more laughs than a cannival festival.

So if ya not doing anything, like smoking with friend, go and see this movie. And see why yer seen to much Doggie howser episodes.

ain't got ogres, or elves, but .......but it got kung fu.

i been huge fun of kung fu, since the a child, took some classes which they didn't work out. But that didn't stop me, by seen more from the Shaw brother, to the Bruce Lee ones, to today. Now a reunion of two of the best, unite for one movie. To they bring great choreography, or they are acting like kid? here my review:

Jason Tripitika(Michael Argarano) is just your average loving kung fu loving kid, that admire the art of classic film, but when he dream about a monkey putting the kicks on some bad guy it make himself , into something. So one day he go to the nearest pawnshop where we meet hop( a very old jackie Chan), buying bootleg film, when he stumble in a room , that hold ancient staff that belong to a warrior. Heading home he cross path with a bully, that force him to go and rob Hop pawnshop. By entering they star looking for the money until hop gets shot, giving the staff to jason, which he make a run for it, chase around the street he reach an end in a roof, where the gang starting to treating him for what happen, when all of the sudden the staff start to push him to the cliff. When falling he wake in a village, frighten, he run when the sudden is invaded by the royal guard of the warlord, destroying houses, killing the men, and taken the women. By the time he meet a drunken traveller by the name of Lu Yan(Chan again) that save him, and invite him for a drink, where he tell him the story of the monkey king, and the importance of the weapon that he hold, so chase by guards, he is join by a silent monk,(jet Li), and a mysterious musician by the name of the golden sparrow(Liu Yifei) he is trained, and complete the prophesy to go to the 4elements mountains and return the staff that will awaken the monkey king, before the bounty hunter and jade warlord(Collin Chou) guards stop them.

The storyline seem to take from the Never ending story, but more of a karate way, with the basic that come to the main actor. Michael character is always the dimsy, and help es movie geek that we meet in real life, more like the resemblance to Shia Lebouf in the transformers. But the kid can fight that make the movie more joyful. The chemistry that Jackie character have with the Jet Li type, is the fun of the movie, specialty in the scene where Chan to make some rain. From the bad guys view i like more the bounty hunter Ni Chang play by Li Bingbing, that there haven't been a mean female fighter since Ziyi Zhang. Burt lets get something straight i know most of the Jet Li film he always play the silent type, from Once a upon a time in china 1 to 3 to Kiss of the dragon. But now he show he lighter side when playing the monkey king, i mean when ye gonna see him monkey around not on the set of war. But even stranger enough by when he said that fearless whats gonna be he last epic movie. wel this seem more epickier?Is nice to see Jackie Chan getting out of the disney film, leaving he rush hour persona behind and playing the drunken master, that he already did, in the drunken master.

But lest get to the best part of the film which is the fighting of course. The jackie and Jet confrontation is by far the best of the film, with the kick they give one another, is reminded me of the triple fight with the captain in Chan Project A. of course they where all done by the most busiest now hollywood stunt choreographer of mister Yun Wo-ping. that are well nicely styli est.

especially when it come to the staff fight between the jade warlord n the monkey king.

Been directed by the man who have done more animation film, from the classic Lion King, to the cg mouse of both Stuart Little films. Make ye wonder how he pull it all off, for a film like that. the film have fun in the way the characters interact, to the visual that certainly took from other kung fu movies like the crouching tiger hidden dragon palaces, to the old ancient Chinese weapons.

Is not the best kung fu film of the decade like it was with Jet Li Hero, but deliver the best duel fight of Jackie Chan and Jet Li, that bring the entertainment, From the fighting in a restaurant, to the slapstick training that made Chan famous.

The film goes directly to a family that will enjoy it. To even a martial art aficionado. so it got the kicks and adventure, and some jump, but ye can expect much. So for me i go watching the 7 swords to Azumi as one best epic martial art films. But i m here waiting for Jet Li bad guy(which he really good at) in The mummy 3.

21 is a peculiar, and very unique film that i wanted to see. But yeah there been other film that base on heist or cheating. And there manny, but lately the game of poker, is what making head. right now, with the whole tournament that is airing on tv. Now there's a movie that show, if you have a plan, a strategy, and know well the numbers of every card. Well ye become a big shot, in a city that never sleep (cause they spread ya with somekind of gas to keep ya up all the night). Heres my review:

Ben Campbell(Jim Sturgess), is senior on MIT, he spend hes time working with friend building a robot for a contest, attending classes, working on a clothing store(which he was promoted, and hanging in a bar with the coworkers. But when he answer a very special answer in Mickey Rosa(Kevin Spacey) class. Discover the reason why is so important to count card. join by other member, he is it, train, to learn words that turn to number, and study the true strategy of blackjack. Cause on the weekend beside smuggling money, is Vegas baby, is Vega. Where the table come with hes own rules, when in go, one of the member show he hand on back mean the game is hot, when is pointed in the eye, it means, we need to talk, and a stroke in the hair, is time to go. making it the best time of he's life, money, girl, respect while been watch by a security agent by the name of Cole(Laurence Fishburne) who already had a run in with Mickey. All is good but back home, he make every aside from classes, to he friends. Becoming more greedier that could jeopardy the team, with a jealousy, and some mistrust with the leader. Is a good life, but when you add more card to the deck, is a lost.

The movie is special on the way the cheat on poker, is like been in 5th grade all over again. i mean i don't know that there some drama or is it a manual on how to count the card. The narration was good, cause is told by the way the card is play. same way that Morgan freeman describe a boxing fight in million dollar baby.

Kudos go to Kevin Spacey acting, on this films, as the best leader and squealing teacher in a movie. Just looking on he devilish eyes you know that he can make yer life bad in school steal ya everything that you own. Jim Sturges role was very cliches on a regular note, from the shy beginner to the compulsive addict, that the same to Philip Seymour Hoffman owning mahowny.

The varies stages that the movie have, was well narrated, cause the best part was the technic they had, on cheating, from the mule in a crotch, to cashing the chips using your local strippers, the art is fun and intelligent, yet need be a mathesian to get into the action. but different to another Dustin Hoffman movie(Rainman). But more educational(ok i m exxagerating here)

So the movie dont have the king of rock, or brad pitt, matt dillon, or a george clooney, but is wellcraft, it has it own style of playing it. And showing the real life of what Vegas is all about.

So if ye wanna see something di9fferent, that doesnt have side gags, or bad remakes, or guys that got powers. Then go and see what math is good for you.
