To fast for been greek.

I m very fond to the greek mythology, from the type of gods, to their creatures. Now knowing that this year is gonna full of it, from the remake of clash of the titan, to the release of everyone favorite ghost of spartan, GOW 3. It seem everything is coming a long, except when i heard of this film. Bringing the Greek to the modern times. Does it work, or get send to the underworld? Here's the review:
Zeus(Sean Bean) lightning was stolen, and all finger are pointing to poseidon son, Percy(Logan Lerman), leaving him 14 days, after the gods declare all wars, among them self. So now Percy was prove he's innocent, by retrieving it, and rescuing her mother(Catherine Keener) from the clutches of hades himself, who want the lightning. Coming along he's best friend/bodyguard Grove(Brandon T. Jackson), and the bravest lady of all the film Athena daughter Annabeth(Alexandra Daddario). Traveling from tennessee to las Vegas, to stop the war that could end the world.
Well i cant say much of the acting, cause really this is something that Nickelodeon could do for a Saturday night movie event. Logan performances, is that of Zach Efren adventures attitude that is missing from him. Alexandra, really was the very interesting character of it all, cause the way she is warrior, than a daughter of aphrodite. And Jackson goat boy act, really was the annoying part of the film, knowing if you watch close, he really cut it as one. The other star, cant say much they were short, and just missing in action, from Medusa face Uma Thurman, to half horse butt Pierce Brosnan. I think Rosario Dawson have the much time than all them.
I know it sounded gruel, but lets get to the story, i think it was kind good the story had that same myth adventure, that is know off. But i felt that some of those idea were borrow. Example the Medusa decapitation, is something they took from the clash, and the stone traveling, that definitely a Harry Potter trick.Plus there's more, when they take him to he's tent, it really felt even more Harry Pottery. the story doesnt give so much character development, cause in half-blood camp all they show, is how bad asses(pardon the words). so soon. They should have a least giving a half hour on the reason of who they are. I did like Percy Problems from he dyslexia, to he's deficit, cause in true is something that i can relate. And the relationship that the gods have with their son, is also that really make it very modern.
That really bring that humane sense, the character needed. The action sequences, were neat, from the great Hydra battle, to the Percy fight against Luke. The effect went all to turn it into a epic. But not so much.
Knowing the film was made by the same man that brought the Harry Potter film(two of them). Kind took a slow move for this one. he didn't ruin it, cause there's some element that really follow the Greek myth. But it felt well out a place, for just being just another franchise to be made.
Fox have been struggling to turn a fantasy story, into a franchise. but failing it with . From Eragon, Seeker, and now they re taking huge risk on bridging the Narnia series back. Look i like their take on the whole Greek mythology, but they have to learn the only time that one tale was turn into kiddie like goes to Disney Hercules. And to be honest, it was good. So i bet there's a follow up coming(or not).
